As Pyypl continues to scale, we are looking for Chief Accountant to join our central group team.

What will you be doing?

• Leading accounting processes automation in order to streamline month end closing and aim to close standalone books within 4 working days, Group consolidated accounts – within 5 working days

• Boosting productivity of accounting department by establishing effective utilization of accounting software (available modules and features)

• Supervise and allocate the work of the accounting personnel, manage country finance managers (dotted reporting line)

• Overseeing the organization during the closing of the accounts

• Setting up quarterly, monthly and annual closing schedules

• Providing support on accounting matters to central group finance team as well as to the finance teams in subsidiaries

• Identifying issues with accounting processes or procedures that could lead to future errors or misinterpretations of data

• Completing three sets of financial statements for UAE entity, ensuring they are of high-quality, and are completed in time for the stakeholders

• Responsible for the financial audit of UAE entity and quarterly regulatory reporting

• Supporting the group audit process, working with the external audit team, provided them with high quality information and ensuring the audit is completed on time

• Interpreting legislative and regulatory requirements

• Supporting the review of new IFRS requirements and/or regulatory issues and recommending how the business should prepare to meet them

• Developing accounting procedures and policies ensuring compliance

• Participating in or leading internal audits to assess the effectiveness of internal controls within an organization’s finance department

• Identify any training and development requirements within the Accountancy Unit and ensure that these are met

• Be an active part of the Group Finance team, support the development of a professional, high performing function

• Supporting ad hoc analysis as required by the direct manager

What do you need to be successful in this position?

• University degree and relevant professional accounting qualifications required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Accounting
• Professional accounting qualifications (e.g. ACCA, other)
• Excellent knowledge of IFRS disclosures
• Standalone and consolidated accounts preparation
• People management experience
• Good knowledge of accounting tools (MS Dynamics, MS Office, etc)
• Strong knowledge of Excel (pivot tables, v look ups, etc)
• Confident presenting the numbers
• Clear understanding of financials of large organizations
• Experience is payments industry is considered a plus
• Strong communication skillset
• Fluent in English language
• Good stress resistance

The role will be based in our UAE Group Office and will report to the Group Chief Financial Officer.
